Just Shot a Klim Glove Vid

Just finished shooting a new video on the Klim Induction gloves, which I've been testing for 2 summer seasons now. The written review is going to be published next month in Motorcycle Consumer News magazine (August edition.)

The Emerson Actioncam HD Review racked up 210 views in 2 days, but no new subscribers yet.

The BMW-MOA rally in Hamburg, NY is coming up in just a few weeks! I'm excited to go and meet all the vendors, and old friends from online forums.

Emerson EVC455 Actioncam Video Done

Not much new to report for the past few days, as I've been in Washington DC for my "real job." Next video up is going to be a 2 year durability report on this bargain priced Emerson EVC455 HD Actioncam camera - about $45. The video quality is about what you'd expect for this price, but it has held up surprisingly well on my commute. Should have more stuff coming in to test soon....

Dainese D-Crust Plus Video is Up!

The D-Crust vid was posted today!

Moto Mouth Episode #4 - Dainese D-Crust Plus Functional Overview

I also took some video with the #SENA 10C I am testing for #Rider magazine. Pretty nifty little device that blends a video cam and communicator into one compact unit. More on that at a later date!

Frustration? You bet!

Hello All-

I began work today "after work" on my newest video, focusing on one of my oldest subjects - a five year old pair of #Motoport Air Mesh II Kevlar overpants. I originally tested them for Motorcycle Consumer News in 2012 - and (spoiler alert) they wear like iron. They will be alive long after I am old and buried!

I shot a few segments, came in, and realized the mic was unplugged for most of it. Hours and hours, down the drain! AAARRUGH!! Gotta do it all over again in the next coming days. Meanwhile, it looks like rain tomorrow, so at last maybe I'll get to film some action shots for the Dainese D-Crust report!

Agostini!

The Agostini review is up early...

You can watch it here.

I hope it's a success with the Guzzi-crowd. I posted it on BMW sites too - not because they want to see this type of review (about volume and hooligan sound,) but because they may offer feedback for an upcoming Remus pipe video I have in mind. It's already been on a RT for a couple of weeks!

Let's see what everyone says. The #Held glove video surpassed over 500 views in 1 week. Things are rolling!

Ciao Bella!

I put the finishing touches on my third video today, a functional overview and durability report of the Agostini Mandello pipes on my 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer.

Ago-what? Moto-who? Yeah, I know. An acquired taste! But I love it! So much soul and character! I hope all 4 Moto Guzzi owners worldwide tune in for this vid on Sunday!

Motoport Racing Gloves are here!

Next up for test - these Motoport Racing Gloves. I'm intrigued by them. They're so thin to the touch, but if they're anything like my other Motoport gear, they're built like a brick shithouse. I'm betting that 5 years from now, after 100,000 miles, they will still look showroom new. My expectations are high - but those expectations are based on experience with the jacket and overpants. Let's see how these do over this year.

The new glove video has surpassed the week old helmet video in views within its first 2 days online. I'm not sure why - could be the glove was more interesting than a helmet, or could be that the channel is gaining steam. Either way, it's encouraging. I'm getting more good feedback from folks which I will try to incorporate on future vids.

More progress on the D-Crust rain gear video too. I took some close up shots using my neighbor as the "male model." Hysterical. I really want that one to come out well. The new Go Pro should arrive tomorrow, and with it - action shots! A new era for me....

Nothing Much Today

The new glove video is doing well on Youtube - over 240 views in just 24 hours. Finally got some comments in the various forums as well. Not much new to report today on the motorcycle front, but the BMW MOA rally is drawing closer, and I'm excited to attend. I haven't been to a BMW rally since they last came 'round the east coast, to Vermont. I believe that was 10 years ago! It will be fun to see old friends and make new ones....

When Ballet Trumps Moto-journalism

You've got to forgive a moto-journalist for not blogging every single day. Once in awhile, something comes along to distract me from bikes and gear testing. In one such case, today was my daughters' first ballet recital. They were both ridiculously adorable, jumping and hopping around on stage to Tchaikovsky. So tiny and coordinated. They've got rhythm and balance, neither of which come from my genes!

But, back to the subject at hand - it was another productive day. #Sidi sent in a new set of "Deep Rain" boots to test.

I try to be objective, but truth be told I have yet to feel anything but unadulterated adoration for Sidi products. I've tested their boots over tens if not hundreds of thousands of miles, and I believe they can survive a nuclear holocaust completely unscathed. We'll see if these new Deep Rains continue in that fine tradition.

Next, it was pouring out for most of the day, giving me an opportunity (before the recital) to start filming the #Dainese D-Crust Plus video. I haven't downloaded the raw stuff into the computer yet, and I still need some motion video, but at least the process has started.

(Speaking of motion video, the new Go Pro arrives this week!)

And today, of course, is Sunday - meaning another new video at the Moto Mouth Moshe Youtube channel. Episode 2 is a functional overview and durability report on the #Held Air N Dry gloves. I've been testing them since 2014, for a product review published in Thunder Press Magazine's January 2015 issue. They've got around 22,000 miles on them by now...

Finally, Moto Mouth Moshe is officially a week old today! In that time, with only 1 video for content, the channel has racked up over 900 page views and nearly 200 subscribers. Not bad! Let's see if Episode 2 can keep the momentum going!

Final Touches

Here are the pics for my upcoming #MCN piece on the #Helite Turtle. I really love this thing! I'm going to give it another week or so of street use before submission, just to finalize my opinions.

Not much else to report today. Weather has been sprinkling on and off. When it rains, I go outside to shoot the Dainese rain gear video, and by the time I set up, it stops. Then by the time I tear down, it starts again. I give up!

Video #5 in Production!

Oy, another late night in front of the screen, working after work. The rough draft of the #Dainese #Carroarmato boot video, my fifth, is now done.

After some fine tuning, it should be ready to roll tomorrow. It's only 3.5 minutes long, including the credits. Next I'll have to tackle the D-Crust suit video, but for today I'm exhausted. Time to hit the Csak.

Working After Work

Ahhh, the life of a part time moto-journalist. I started working on the #Helite Turtle Airbag Vest review after work.

I've been riding around with this thing on for about 6 weeks now, and I must say I'm impressed. The materials and construction all scream "PREMIUM!" Feels like something that would say "Motoport" or "Aerostich" on it, and I mean that as a compliment. It has a nice heft to it, like something that will last 10-20 years in continuous duty, without complaint. I like that since it's a vest, I can use it with any jacket I want, in any season. Better than buying an airbag jacket and being stuck with the jacket. Look at all that hi-viz color and reflective 3M striping - it's like an ATGATT status symbol! The only problem with it is that everywhere you stop, everyone wants you to pull the cord and inflate the vest. They gave me ONE C02 cartridge, people! Replacements are $25 a pop. So, I have to keep disappointing the onlookers, because the only time I'm going to pull this cord is for my own video!

And.....

I shot some raw footage for Moto Mouth Moshe Episode #5, focusing on Dainese's #Carroarmato boots, which I previously wrote up in the August 2015 issue of BMW Owner's News magazine. They don't look bad for almost 18 months and around 22,000 miles on them. Tomorrow hopefully I can get some editing done.
